Cantor Fitzgerald was one of the world's largest bond brokerages.
It was located right above where the first plane hit. All of the people in
the offices were killed.
Over 700 out of 1,000 employees.
There are many reasons I put this link here. One, the CEO was just on CNN
declaring that
the company is unable to continue giving a paycheck to the victims' families
because the
firm is no longer making enough money. They are going to give 25% of their
profits to the
families, but in order to do that they need the banks and brokerages to continue
giving them business.
This international firm has basically been obliterated.
The CEO lost his own brother in the tragedy.
Most of the employees of the firm were in their early 30's. Over 1,500 children
lost at least one parent.
The reason this so affects me is that a cousin of mine was one of those victims.
He was 32 and had a wife and 3 very young children.
Also, my father used to work for Cantor, and when I was young I once went
to work
with him and I remember staring out the windows to the street below.
This was one of the firms where the people were seen jumping out of the windows.
According to my father they weren't jumping, rather they were blown out by
the force.
He said that he could often feel the Tower swaying in the wind.

Please note: what this person says is very true. But the fact is that we cannot
just stand by
and let this terrorism go on indefinitely. America was first because by knocking
out the
center of the world's economy these terrorists thought they would weaken all
of the West.
These people may not have normal human emotions, but they do have rational
thought.
Although they have failed, they will keep trying. And risking their own lives
only gives them more drive.
We are entering a war never before seen or imagined by humanity; but it is
an unavoidable war.
I hope that all nations will work with us, including Muslim nations. Human
nature dictates
that we do whatever we must to protect ourselves. We don't want to lose our
own people,
but we will, as we have thoughout history, take that chance for the betterment
of humankind.
I have faith in the decisions of our President George W. Bush. He may come
off as a bit
of a bumblehead at times, but he has also shown that when it is necessary
he puts a
tremendous amount of thought into the task at hand. We also have the great
minds and
talents of Vice President Cheney and Secretary of State Powell who will help
map out
our world-wide journey into the unknown. We are taking this very seriously.
